Two of City National’s entertainment bankers, Lori Badgett and Denise Colletta, have been named to “Women In Music 2016: The 100 Most Powerful Executives.”
Badgett and Colletta are the only two bankers who made the list, which is compiled by Billboard magazine.
They were honored at a Billboard event in New York City on Dec. 9 along with Madonna, who was named Woman of the Year, and Shania Twain, who was named Billboard’s 2016 Icon. The event will air nationally Dec. 12 on the Lifetime channel.
The annual list includes executives drawn from companies associated with the music business including record labels, publishing, live music, agencies, management and law firms. The magazine called the honorees, “the best of today’s dealmakers, influencers and tastemakers.”
Badgett is senior vice president and co-team leader, with Diane Pearson, in City National’s Nashville office. In October, the office celebrated its five-year anniversary, having grown from a handful of colleagues to now being recognized as the city’s premier entertainment bank, providing the unique benefit of entertainment expertise in Nashville, New York and Los Angeles, with clients among the most well-known names in the music industry.
Colletta, who heads City National Bank’s music banking efforts in Los Angeles, led a team in 2016 that arranged one of the largest transactions in independent music in recent years: A $500 million credit facility led by City National Bank for ole, a Toronto-based independent music publishing and rights management company.
Billboard’s New York event featured a performance by singer and Academy Award-nominated actress Hailee Steinfeld.
