For the second year in a row, City National Bank was once again the official bank of the 2015 Tony Awards, held in New York on June 7.
City National provides banking services to nearly 50% of all Broadway shows and this year, shows that banked with City National won a dozen Tony Awards.
City National Chairman and CEO Russell Goldsmith appeared on stage at the event as a presenting sponsor of the Creative Arts award.
“As the bank for Broadway, at City National we have seen firsthand what a great year it has been for the theater community here in New York with record attendance and revenues,” said Goldsmith. “We all know Broadway is both the cultural and economic heartbeat of New York and the inspiration for great theater across America.”
In addition to representing the bank, Goldsmith also presented the 2015 Regional Theatre Tony Award, which this year went to the Cleveland Play House. Goldsmith presented a check for $25,000 to a representative of the performing arts institution, which is also celebrating its centennial.

The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time – six nominations and five Tonys, including Best Play, Best Actor in a Play and Best Direction
An American in Paris – 12 nominations and four Tony Awards
The Visit – five nominations
The Elephant Man – four nominations
Skylight – seven nominations and one Tony, including Best Revival of a Play
This is our Youth – one nomination
The Audience – three nominations and two Tony Awards, including Best Featured Actor and Best Leading Actress in a Play
