Is California Taking the Film Industry for Granted?
Speaking at the recent Variety’s Business Managers Elite Breakfast, City National Bank Chairman and Chief Executive Russell Goldsmith discussed the magnitude of the drop in California’s film and television production and the need for state and local government to do more to preserve the industry.
A step in the right direction, he says, is recently signed legislation that would triple the size of California’s film and television tax credit program, making it more competitive with New York, Georgia and other rivals.
