LAS VEGAS, NV – City National Bank, Nevada’s Premier Private and Business Bank®, today announced that Clay Overlien has been appointed as vice president and financial sales advisor for its Cheyenne in North Las Vegas and Summerlin branch in Las Vegas.  He joins City National through its acquisition of Sun West Bank in May of this year.  Overlien is a well-known banking professional who has worked in the financial services industry in southern Nevada for more than 20 years.
In his new capacity, Overlien will be responsible for developing new clients through referrals and calling efforts.  He will network through various civic and trade organizations to generate new business opportunities and to promote City National.  He will also work very closely with other areas of the bank, such as Commercial Banking Services and Private Client Services, to develop new business.
Overlien will report to Floy Davis, senior vice president and area banking manager of the bank’s Cheyenne and Summerlin branches.  While Overlien will work out of both branch offices, which are located at 4310 W. Cheyenne in North Las Vegas and 10801 W. Charleston Blvd., in Summerlin, he will spend the majority of his time outside of the branches developing new business opportunities.

Prior to joining City National, Overlien served as executive relationship manager for Sun West Bank.  During his 20 years in banking, Overlien has served in a variety of positions for Sun West Bank, Interstate Mortgage and Valley Bank of Nevada.  He began his banking career as a business development officer with Valley Bank in 1990.
Overlien is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire, where he earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education.  He has also earned a number of banking certificates from the American Institute of Banking (AIB), including Principles of Banking, Accounting, Finance, Credit Underwriting and more.
Overlien is very active in the community serving as a member of various trade associations or board member and volunteer of several nonprofit organizations.   Some of these organizations include the North Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce Economic Development Committee, the City of North Las Vegas Strategic Budget Priorities Process Committee, the Southern Nevada Commercial Group, and the Salvation Army Advisory Board.
