RENO, NV – City National Bank, Nevada’s Premier Private and Business Bank®, today announced that it has appointed Dr. James Cohen as the newest member of its nine member advisory board in northern Nevada.  Dr. Cohen is a local and well-known member of the medical community in the Reno/Sparks area serving as the Medical Administrator of Renown’s Institute for Cancer, and as Medical Director of Renown’s Outpatient Infusion Center.

Prior to joining Renown, Dr. Cohen worked in the medical industry in San Jose, California, for 33 years. During that time Dr. Cohen served as director for oncology at Good Samaritan Hospital for over 30 years. While in San Jose Dr. Cohen also served on numerous advisory boards including the American Cancer Society, Good Samaritan Hospital where he served as board chair, Hospice of the Valley where he also served as board chair, Association of Northern California Oncologists, Los Gatos Healthcare Center and board chair, Saratoga Subacute Hospital, and the Samaritan Cancer Foundation.

Dr. Cohen has a medical degree from Cornell Medical School in New York City.  He also received his postdoctoral hematology and oncology training from Stanford University. Dr. Cohen was also recognized in the Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Cancer Care, and Best Doctors in America.

The bank has a total of nine prominent business professionals serving on its advisory board in northern Nevada.  City National has a total of 11 advisory boards in a number of its regions throughout the bank.  These advisory boards play a vital role in the success of the bank by

helping refer and develop new relationships to the bank, provide input on the local economies, identify areas of financial service needs not adequately addressed in the market, and assist in representing the bank in the community at various functions and charitable events.  Each board member serves a three year term, with an option to renew.
