LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 5, 2000--City National Bank(NYSE:CYN), California's Premier Private and Business Bank(SM), todaynamed Thomas B. Rogers as senior vice president and director of clientrelations for its South Coast Region.

Rogers will be involved in developing and retaining key commercialand individual client relationships, and will represent the bank atcommunity and philanthropic events throughout the region. He will alsoserve as chairman of City National's Orange County Advisory Committeeand will report to Dallas Haun, executive vice president and head ofthe South Coast Region.

Before joining City National, Rogers most recently served assenior vice president and treasurer of The Irvine Company, developerof the nation's largest master-planned urban environment, located inOrange County. He joined The Irvine Company in 1992.

Prior to his position with The Irvine Company, Rogers spent morethan 25 years in many capacities for major financial institutions. Heserved as executive vice president and division administrator ofSecurity Pacific National Bank's Real Estate Industries Group,Southern Division, and prior to that, was senior vice president andchief credit officer for Security Pacific's California CorporateGroup. His previous banking career included 15 years with the NationalBank of Detroit.

Rogers actively supports several community and charitableorganizations. He is chairman of the United Way of Orange County,director of the Multicultural Arts Council of Orange County, directorof Arts Orange County, and a trustee of the Orange County Museum ofArt. In addition, Rogers is a member of the Investment AdvisoryCommittee of CalOPTIMA, the managed health care agency of the Countyof Orange, and serves on the Investment Committee of The NatureReserve of Orange County.

A native of Dearborn, Michigan, Rogers currently resides inNewport Beach. He graduated from Eastern Michigan University with aB.S. in Business Administration. He also attended graduate school atWayne State University in Detroit, and completed the curriculum of theGraduate School of Banking at the University of Wisconsin in Madisonand the National Commercial Lending School at the University ofOklahoma.
