LOS ANGELES – City National Bank, America’s Premier Private and Business Bank®, announced today that Brandon Hovard has joined the firm as senior vice president and business development officer serving the business community in Long Beach and surrounding areas.

Based out of City National’s Greater South Bay Commercial Banking Services center, Hovard will provide an array of financial products and services to businesses in the region. He will become a key member of the bank’s Long Beach business development team, which serves locally owned mid-size companies.

“Brandon Hovard is a welcome addition to City National’s Long Beach team as we expand our capabilities to better serve businesses in the region,” said Rod Banks, executive vice president of the bank’s Commercial Banking Services division. “Brandon brings strong expertise in commercial banking and is well-known in the local business community.”

Hovard has nearly two decades of financial services experience. Prior to joining City National, he served as a managing director with U.S. Bank’s commercial banking unit. Hovard began his career in 1999 with City National’s commercial banking division.

Hovard earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Los Angeles. A Long Beach native, he serves on the Finance and Audit Committees for the YMCA of Greater Long Beach and is a member of the Rotary Club of Long Beach.

City National opened its Greater South Bay Commercial Banking Services center in March. The new offices are located at Legacy Oceangate Tower, a 12-story building in the heart of the Long Beach financial district. The offices comprise a nearly 3,000-square-foot, ground-floor bank branch and 14,800 square feet on the 10th floor devoted to commercial banking.

City National Bank has been serving the Long Beach community since 1998, when it acquired the former Harbor Bank.
