RENO, NV – City National Bank, Nevada’s Premier Private and Business Bank®, today announced that it has hired Joe Bourdeau as a relationship officer in its group in northern Nevada.  Bourdeau is a 34 years banking professional who is well-known and highly regarded throughout northern Nevada, especially in the Reno and Tahoe areas where he will be focusing more of his business development efforts.
In his new capacity, Bourdeau will be responsible for all business development opportunities and relationship sales initiatives of high net worth individuals and professional services firms in the Reno and Tahoe areas.  He will network through various civic and trade organizations to generate new relationship opportunities and to promote City National.  He will also work very closely with other areas of the bank, such as Commercial Banking Services and Core Banking, to enhance existing relationships and develop new business opportunities.
Focusing primarily on the Tahoe area, Bourdeau will spend time working out of Incline Village as well as South Shore or Stateline in the bank’s office at 225 Kingsbury Grade, Suite C.  He will also spend time at City National’s Reno Regional Center at 5470 Kietzke Lane.  Bourdeau will report directly to Randy Boesch, senior vice president and manager of Nevada Private Client Services for City National.
“When it comes to banking in northern Nevada Joe is certainly among the most well-known and experienced in this area,” said Boesch.  “His reputation and understanding of northern Nevada, especially the Lake Tahoe area, are second to none and will serve him well as he helps promote City National’s brand and increase our footprint and market share throughout this area.”
Prior to joining City National, Bourdeau served as a consultant to the financial services industry following last year’s Umpqua Bank acquisition of Nevada Security Bank where he served as president for several years.  During his tenure in banking Bourdeau has worked for a number of banks in the Incline Village area of Lake Tahoe, including Nevada Banking Company, Bank of Tahoe, Lake Tahoe Community Trust, Bank of America and its predecessor Valley Bank of Nevada.
Bourdeau is a graduate of the University of California, Chico, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance.  He also earned a number of certificates from the American Institute of Banking (AIB), including Accounting, Finance, Bank Operations and more.
Bourdeau is very active in the community serving as a board member or volunteer for a number of nonprofit organizations.  His community involvement includes serving as past president of the Incline Village Chamber of Commerce, Visitors Bureau, Optimist Club, Thunderbird Lodge Preservation Society, and Tahoe Players Association.  He is a current member of the Tahoe-Incline Rotary Club, chairman of North Tahoe United Way, past director of the Parasol Foundation and Lake Tahoe Film Festival, and founder of the North Lake Tahoe Boys and Girls Club.
