LOS ANGELES - City National Bank, the second largest independent bank headquartered in California, announced today that Mary Bowman has joined its Real Estate Division in Northern California as a senior vice president and team leader.
In this newly created position, Bowman will oversee a team of professionals providing construction financing for commercial and residential real estate development throughout Northern California. She will be based at City National's Walnut Creek Regional Center.

Bowman joins City National from Washington Mutual, where she was a senior vice president overseeing a team of commercial credit managers and analysts at its Oakland office. Prior to that, Bowman was a principal with Banc of America Securities' Syndicated Capital Markets group and director of finance with Kaufman and Broad Home Corporation. She began her career more than two decades ago with Citibank as a corporate finance relationship manager and also held commercial real estate services positions with both Wells Fargo Bank and Bank of America.
Bowman was graduated cum laude from the University of California, Davis, with a bachelor's degree in history. She also holds a master's degree in business administration from Harvard University.
