LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 23, 2000--City National Bank(NYSE:CYN), announced today that Thomas Miller, a senior generalmanager and marketing/advertising professional, has joined the bank asexecutive vice president and director of marketing.
Miller heads the Marketing Department and is responsible fordeveloping and executing marketing strategies that support the bank'sbusiness objectives and enhance City National's brand as California'spremier business and private bank.

Prior to his seven years with FCB, Miller was director of clientservices at November Co. in New York City and Washington, D.C. He alsoserved as president and general manager of the New York office ofKetchum Advertising, in addition to other posts within the company. A25-year veteran of the advertising industry, Miller also has workedwith Tatham Laird & Kudner and Grey Advertising.
Miller received his bachelor of arts and masters degrees inadvertising management from Michigan State University. He is marriedwith two children. Miller and his wife, Noreen, are activefund-raisers for several charitable organizations in the Los Angelesarea.
