LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27, 2000--City National Bank announced today that is has promoted three senior officers to executive vice president. Heng Chen was named executive vice president of Finance; Dallas Haun will serve as executive vice president of the South Coast region; and Bob Patterson is executive vice president of the bank's Ventura County and San Fernando Valley regions.
As head of the Finance Division, Chen oversees City National's asset liability, budget and income tax areas. He serves on the bank's Executive Committee and its Asset and Liability Committee. Chen's previous position was senior vice president of finance.
Prior to joining City National in 1984, Chen was audit senior manager at Price Waterhouse in Los Angeles. He earned his bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara and his master's in business administration from the University of California, Los Angeles.
Haun now oversees the bank's South Coast Commercial Banking region, which includes the South Bay, Long Beach, Orange County and San Diego regions. Prior to his new position, Haun served as regional senior vice president of the South Coast region and as president and chief operating officer of Harbor Bank until its merger with City National in 1998.
Haun currently serves on the bank's Executive Committee, is a member of the Long Beach Economic Development Commission and sits on the board of directors for the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce. Haun graduated from Michigan State University with a bachelor of science degree in finance and received his post graduate degree from the University of Washington's Pacific Coast Banking School.
Patterson heads up the bank's Ventura County and San Fernando Valley regions. He oversees the Commercial Banking Centers in these areas, as well as City National's Agribusiness Unit and Specialty Deposits Department. Prior to his new position Patterson served as regional senior vice president.
Patterson joined City National in 1989 with more than 17 years of experience at Security Pacific National Bank. He is currently a member of City National's executive committee and Senior Loan Committee and sits on the boards of the United Way of Ventura County and the Economic Alliance of the San Fernando Valley. He is also on the steering committee for the new Cal State University of the Channel Islands. Patterson received his bachelor's degree from California State University, Northridge and his master's in business administration from California Lutheran University in Thousand Oaks.
