IRVINE, CA – City National Bank, California’s Premier Private and Business Bank®, today proudly announced that Dan MacMillan, vice president and senior relationship manager of the bank’s Real Estate Division in Orange County, has been appointed to the board of directors for the Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation by Jim and Shannon Mora.  MacMillan is one of three community and business leaders who serve on the board of this prominent nonprofit organization.

Jim Mora, head coach of the UCLA Bruins football team, and his wife Shannon, founded the Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation in 2005 to help children realize their dreams.  MacMillan’s passion for helping children is what caused him to get involved in this wonderful organization.

MacMillan recently helped the organization raise $50,000 in five days for the Mora’s Family Foundation.  This money will support children throughout three targeted areas:  children from low socio-economic backgrounds; mentally and/or physically challenged children; and children at-risk.

“When it comes to community outreach for me and City National, children in need are at the heart of our involvement in the communities we serve,” said MacMillan. “Children are our future and I can’t think of a better cause than to give every child the opportunity to succeed in life.  We have a responsibility as adults and as companies to make a difference in the lives of children everywhere, which is why I’m proud to be a part of both City National and the Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation.”

MacMillan, who joined City National in 2011, has served as a volunteer for various community organizations for more than 10 years.  While helping children in need is one of his passions, he’s also been involved with Chaparral Elementary School in Ladera Ranch and the Laguna Hills Eclipse Soccer Club.  MacMillan will serve a 4-year term on the board of the Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation.

“We are excited to have Dan join our board and the many caring people we have helping us improve the lives of at-risk and disadvantaged children in southern California,” said Shannon Mora.  “Dan’s passion and commitment to our mission will be a great asset to our goal of helping as many children in need as possible.  Every child deserves the opportunity to reach their potential and achieve their dreams.”

When Jim Mora took over as the head coach of the UCLA Bruins football team in December 2011, he and his wife Shannon knew they wanted to expand their Foundation and give back to the community in a meaningful way.  The Jim Mora Count On Me Family Foundation raises funds and awareness to support children’s charities and organizations whose mission aligns with theirs, giving children the opportunity to succeed in whatever they choose to do in life.  For more information about the Count On Me Family Foundation, go to www.countonmefoundation.org.
