LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Aug. 5, 2003--City National Bank,the second largest independent bank headquartered in California,announced today that Stephan E. Robinson, Sr., has joined the companyas senior vice president and Community Reinvestment Act (CRA) manager.
Robinson, who most recently was the president and chief executiveofficer of the Pasadena Development Corporation (PDC), will beresponsible for coordinating the bank's community reinvestmentactivities and help facilitate bankwide efforts to lend and invest inlow- to moderate-income communities.
As head of the PDC, Robinson provided loans, technical assistanceand advice to small businesses in an effort to create and retain jobsfor individuals in low- to moderate-income neighborhoods in Pasadena,Calif. Robinson was with the nonprofit economic developmentcorporation for three years.
Prior to that, he was director of community reinvestment with LifeBank in Riverside, and held top finance posts with the RiversideCommunity College District and Riverside County Federal Credit Union.Robinson served in the U.S. Army from 1985 to 1987 and was a financeofficer with the U.S. Central Intelligence Agency for five years. Hewent on to serve as an associate national bank examiner with the U.S.Treasury Department from 1992 to 1994.
Robinson holds a bachelor's degree from Columbia Union College inTakoma Park, Md., and a master's degree in business administrationfrom Averett College in Danville, Va. Raised in South Los Angeles, heand his wife, Venessa, reside in Moreno Valley with their fourchildren.
