Wullschleger, a 30-year banking veteran, reports to Kevin Dunigan, executive vice president in charge of the bank's Core Banking Division.

He will play an equally important leadership role in creating and implementing the marketing strategies that will help us promote them to this key segment.

Prior to joining City National, Wullschleger served as a senior vice president with First Bank, where he oversaw corporate banking and small business banking. From 2001 until 2003, he was vice president and manager of Manufacturers Bank's Business Banking Center. From 1985 until 2001, he held increasingly senior responsibilities encompassing business development, commercial and small business lending, loan center operations and portfolio management at both Sanwa Bank California and Coast Bank. Before that, he was an assistant vice president at Bank of America.

A resident of La Palma, Calif., he earned a bachelor's degree in finance from California State University, Long Beach and attended the University of Washington's Pacific Coast Banking School.

Wullschleger serves as loan committee chairman of the Pacific Coast Regional Small Business Development Corporation. He also is a member of the Long Beach State Athletic Foundation and Long Beach Rotary, and is active with the Continental Little League in La Palma.
