SAN DIEGO, Calif. – City National Bank has announced that Steve Cusato, senior vice president and manager of Commercial Banking Services in San Diego, has assumed additional responsibility as San Diego market leader.
As market leader, Cusato is responsible for coordinating the bank’s regional client service, business development, marketing, and philanthropic activities. He will continue to oversee the commercial banking office serving middle-market companies in San Diego.
Based in La Jolla, Cusato has managed City National’s Commercial Banking Services office in San Diego since 2003, when he joined the bank. Earlier, he spent 10 years with Comerica Bank (formerly Imperial Bank) as senior vice president in its corporate lending group. Before that, he was with San Diego National Bank and Torrey Pines Bank, serving the credit needs of local middle-market companies.
He began his banking career with Sanwa Bank in 1981 and held positions in both commercial banking and international trade finance.
Cusato serves on the board of directors of the Old Globe Theatre and is active in the Sunset Cliffs Surfing Association.
A resident of the Sunset Cliffs area of Point Loma, he earned a bachelor’s degree in marketing and a master’s degree in finance, both from San Diego State University.
