Warmuth will oversee credit policy and administration for City National, thesecond largest independent bank headquartered in California. He also will jointhe bank's executive committee. Warmuth succeeds Robert Moore, who retired asthe company's chief credit officer on April 30.

Warmuth joins City National Bank from United California Bank (UCB). He becameUCB's chief credit officer in 1998 after heading its special assets division forfour years.
During his 21-year banking career, Warmuth has held a variety of positions inrisk management, business and real estate lending, corporate banking andconsumer credit.
From 1992 to 1993, Warmuth was Southern California area manager for Bank ofAmerica's real estate industries division. Immediately prior to that time, hewas executive vice president of the real estate special assets group at SecurityPacific Bank.
Between 1981 and 1983, Warmuth was treasurer of The Christiana Companies, apublicly traded real estate development company in San Diego.
Warmuth is a graduate of the University of Southern California (USC). He earneda bachelor's degree in finance/communications in 1976 and a master's degree inbusiness administration during the following year.
Warmuth serves on the executive committee of the Lusk Center for Real EstateDevelopment at USC, and is a member of both the Risk Management Association andthe Urban Land Institute.
