LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 26, 2005--City National Bank(NYSE:CYN) today announced that Executive Vice President Dallas Haunwill fill a new position at the bank and lead its regional commercialand private banking services in California.

Haun will report to City National Bank President Chris Warmuth andoversee the company's 12 regional commercial and private bankingcenters as well as the business development officers who support them.Together, they will enhance the coordinated delivery of CityNational's wide-ranging capabilities for its private and businessbanking clients, including commercial lending and cash management,foreign exchange and international letters of credit, business trustand investment services, and private banking and wealth management.

Haun now successfully manages City National's commercial andprivate banking services in metropolitan Los Angeles and Long Beach aswell as Orange, Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego counties.Effective immediately, he will add oversight responsibilities for theregional commercial and private banking centers in West Los Angeles,the San Fernando Valley, Ventura and the San Francisco Bay Area, whichare headed by Paul Nussbaum, Bob Patterson and Bob Brant,respectively.

Haun is a member of City National's Executive Committee and hasbeen a senior executive at the company for seven years. He has morethan 25 years of experience in the financial services industry,including 20 years with Harbor Bank of Long Beach. He was presidentand chief operating officer of that company until it was acquired byCity National in 1998. He began his career with Detroit Bank andTrust.

Haun graduated from Michigan State University in 1975 with abachelor's degree in finance, and completed the University ofWashington's Pacific Coast Banking School program in 1982. He alsocompleted the Executive Program at the Anderson School of Business atUCLA in 2003.

Haun lives in Long Beach and is active in the community. Inaddition to serving on the Long Beach Chamber of Commerce's board ofdirectors, he also is an executive council member of the local chapterof the Boy Scouts of America.
