PALO ALTO, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--March 12, 2001--City NationalBank (NYSE:CYN) today announced the appointment of Jeanette Garrettyas senior vice president and manager of its Palo Alto Private Bankingoffice.
Garretty, a 22-year banking industry veteran, will spearhead CityNational's private banking expansion efforts in the Silicon Valley andon the Peninsula, targeting the asset management and credit needs ofthe region's most affluent individuals and successful entrepreneurs.Garretty most recently served as senior vice president and team leaderof Bank of America's Silicon Valley Private Bank office.

Garretty, a resident of Redwood City, is an active member of hercommunity, serving as a member of the Santa Clara University Board ofRegents, as a provisional member of the GrandView League (which servesas primary fundraiser for the American Cancer Society in the SiliconValley), and as a board member of Catholic Charities of SiliconValley.
