LAS VEGAS, NV – City National Bank today announced that Larry Charlton has been named senior vice president and Nevada regional executive. Charlton, 62, is a longtime Nevadan and banking veteran, with nearly 40 years of experience in the financial services industry.
Charlton will be responsible for coordinating City National's client service, business development and marketing activities in Nevada. He will work very closely with senior executives of other areas of the bank, including Private Client Services, Wealth Management Services, Commercial Banking Services, the Real Estate Division and Core Banking.
Charlton will report directly to City National Bank President Christopher Warmuth. “We're very pleased that Larry will become our Nevada regional executive,” Warmuth said. “He's very well-known in the Nevada business community and highly respected by his colleagues inside and outside the bank. His banking experience and understanding of Nevada will help us further our goal of becoming the state's most recommended financial provider.”
Charlton joined City National in 2007 when it acquired Business Bank of Nevada. Before being promoted to Nevada regional executive, Charlton served as senior vice president and Nevada operations manager. He joined Business Bank of Nevada in 2000.
At Business Bank, Charlton served as executive vice president and chief operations officer. Before that, he was a senior vice president at Bank of America, overseeing $2 billion in cash held at 4,800 banking centers in 22 states. Charlton began his banking career with Valley Bank of Nevada in 1975.

Charlton is actively involved in the community, serving on a number of nonprofit boards, including United Way of Southern Nevada. He is past chairman of the board of United Way and is currently serving on its executive committee. Charlton is also a current member of the executive committee for the Macco Las Vegas Bowl and is a former council member of the Leadership Las Vegas program of the Las Vegas Chamber of Commerce. He is a past board member of Southern Nevada Clean Communities and past president of the Treasury Management Association of Southern Nevada.
A native of Fairfax, Alabama, Charlton received a bachelor of science degree in business administration from Auburn University. Charlton is a former captain in the United States Army. He and his wife Tracey have two grown sons, Scot and Ryan.
