LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 24, 2002--City NationalCorporation today announced that Robert H. Tuttle has been elected tothe boards of directors of City National Corporation and City NationalBank. Tuttle, 58, is managing partner of Tuttle-Click AutomotiveGroup.

In 1989, Tuttle rejoined the Tuttle-Click Automotive Group, whichnow holds 18 franchises in 15 locations throughout Orange County,Calif. and Tucson, Ariz. Tuttle began his automotive industry careerin 1965 with Holmes Tuttle Ford. He was named president of the companyin 1970 and served in that capacity for 12 years.

Tuttle then went to work for former President Ronald Reagan,joining the White House staff in 1982 and becoming Assistant to thePresident and Director of Presidential Personnel in 1985.

Tuttle served on the board of directors of the Bank of Arizona ontwo occasions, from 1978 to 1982 and again between 1989 and 1998, whenthe company was sold. He was also chairman of the bank's executivecommittee from 1996 to 1998.

For many years, Tuttle has been active with a number of civic andacademic organizations. Today, he is chairman of the board of trusteesof the Museum of Contemporary Art. He serves on the board ofcouncilors at the University of Southern California's Annenberg Schoolfor Communication, and is a board member of the InternationalFoundation for Election Systems.

Between 1989 and 1993, he served by presidential appointment onthe board of directors of the Woodrow Wilson International Center forScholars. He also served on the board of fellows of ClaremontUniversity Center and Graduate School and was a member of theCalifornia Arts Council, the national board of directors of the BoysClubs of America and the board of directors of the Los Angeles RedCross.

Tuttle is a graduate of Stanford University. He earned hismaster's degree in business administration from the University ofSouthern California. He is married and has two children.
